Larnin’…..Heard about this new Common Core thing. Makes my hair hurt. Those of us with a lot of road under the tires, so to speak, went to school, paid attention for most of it and moved on. My public school and state niversity education left a lot still hanging out there. That’s where the “street” and a heck of a lot of reading came in to help me along.
I have no problem with public schools, private or religious schools or home schooling. Whatever works for you and your kid. But a countrywide, standardized, one size fits all type of book larnin’? I just don’t know.
Listen to your kids. They will let you know. Peel off the peer garbage and really listen.
